Well we officially arrived here one week ago today! After a 13 hour flight from Houston, 15 suitcases and 2 dogs, we arrived in front of Vila Leticia, Casa No. 14! Once everything was brought into the house Ella said "Okay guys lets get this party started" - not even kidding. She wanted to plant to garden about 10 minutes later but we told her that we still had to unpack and maybe that was a little more important right now.
The last week flew by, we meet a lot of our neighbours, played at the park across the street, got to know the local grocery stores and where all our money will be going..... to food. Like many of you heard prices are crazy here, for example a normal loaf of sliced bread we saw prices from $14 to $19 US dollars, toilet paper is over a dollar a roll and that is for one ply. We also saw a barbie for $95US. Needless to say Ella won't be getting many toys here. We just got our internet connected a couple days ago and our home phone yesterday, but we have no idea what our number is or how people can call us. So I will email you once we figure that out. We also meet our drivers and they are both really nice. They are also helping me with my portuguese which I am really trying to learn, thus the name of my blog "Angola Life" is what it means in case you were wondering.
Today Ella had her first day of Prep 4 classes and the school is amazing, she is definitely a very lucky girl. She also made some new friends today. We only attended a half day today, but Ella wants to go on the bus tomorrow and try going all day. They have swimming in the afternoon and she doesn't want to miss that. I think she will be exhausted but the end of the day. She has been going to bed like a dream here, but I think that is because she is still a little jetlagged. Ella has also made a really good friend here in Casa 6, her name is Baya and they play as often as they can.
